Does Your Community Understand the Importance of Your United Way?
United Way of Lake County (Gurnee, IL) takes you on a journey…Jamie’s journey…while giving statistics about kids in the community. While following this 4-year-old’s journey, statistics pop-up, such as:
53% incoming kindergartners can’t write their name
76% of incoming kindergartners have no knowledge of books
75% of state prison inmates are high school dropouts
United Way of Lake County tells you the sad, but truthful, percentages of kids who aren’t succeeding in the community, and emotionally connects with you by telling Jamie’s personal story.
Near the end of the journey, United Way of Lake County gives you a positive statistic, and one they really care about, which is “100% of our children succeeding.” They explain how United Way of Lake County can bridge the gap by preparing Jamie, and other kids in the community, to succeed:
Prepare Jamie for Kindergarten (through the Success by 6 Program offered by United Way)
Ensure Jamie reads at grade level (through the Reading Success Program offered by United Way)
Make sure Jamie graduates (through the Stay in School Program offered by United Way)
This is all captured in United Way of Lake County’s four-minute campaign video, “Statisticks”.
This creative and informative video not only provides statistics and a story about children in the community, but also provides information on how United Way of Lake County is making a difference in the community.
United Way of Lake County’s “Statisticks” video is a great example of a way to grab your community members’ attention, to inform them of the importance of United Way, and to encourage them to support your United Way.
