Giving Hope on Thanksgiving
We want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and hope you are enjoying the holiday with your family and friends! You continue to impress us with the great things you do and we want to say thanks to all of you for the help and support you provide to people across the country.
United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley (Lowell, Massachusetts) is giving families hope this Thanksgiving, by providing needy families with a Thanksgiving meal. They will be providing area families with the food for a complete Thanksgiving meal including a turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce mix, vegetables, and other non-perishables.
Through their Thanksgiving Project, United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley fed nearly 5,000 struggling families last year and their goal is to feed 5,500 families this year. They shared last year’s results on their blog and they are promoting the Thanksgiving Project on Facebook this year.
United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley invited the community to get involved by either donating money ($40 will feed a family of three or more), running a food drive, or volunteering. On their Crowdrise page, you can “join the team” to help fundraise and invite people to volunteer by connecting and sharing the information through social media.
Thank you, United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, for leading this Thanksgiving Project and thanks to every other United Way for the help you are providing this holiday season!
